3. Nashville, Tennessee. In this beautiful city you can see the total solar eclipse freely, but make sure the weather was cloudy and stay away from the crowds. Some ideal places including Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Coopertown, where the eclipse lasted longer, about 2 minutes.

4. Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Apart from the famous legend of ghosts goblins in Hopkinsville, this small town is known as the best city to watch the eclipse, with totality lasting 2 minutes 41 seconds.

5. Southern Illinois. The eclipse started to go flying over Illinois from the west at 13:17 CDT and out at 1:25 p.m CDT. The weather here is probably slightly better than in the eastern regions listed above.

6. St. Joseph, Missouri. Those in this small town will be able to enjoy the totality of the solar eclipse for 2 minutes 39 seconds. You can also see the eclipse from a neighboring town, Kansas City.

7. Nebraska Sandhills. For those in western Missouri, chances will be good weather, and most of Nebraska has a 70% possibility of sunny weather. The total solar eclipse started at 1:46 pm MDT until 2:09 pm MDT.

8. Casper, Wyoming. The town is located near the center line of the eclipse is likely to be a popular place to view the eclipse. Astronomy lovers and photographers can go to Grand Teton National Park in the west end of the state.
